DUTCH APPLE PIE

INGREDIENTS

  • 1- 9 inch pie crust, uncooked
  • 8 cups peeled and sliced tart apples like Golden Delicioush or Braeburn (approximately, apples vary in size, so fill that pan up)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Crumb Topping
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  2. Put pie crust in a pie tin
  3. Peel and slice apples and put in a large bowl. Toss with cinnamon and sugar.
  4. Layer apples into pie crust
  5. In a small bowl, combine crumb topping ingredients, and using a fork, combine until a crumble forms. It should have a lumpy, sand like appearance.
  6. Top pie with crumble mixture
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes
