Jeju Island is considered Korea’s Hawaii. Following my trip to Myanmar, I hopped on a plane over to Jeju to discover the beauty it has to offer. Jeju is famous for many different sites and it is famous for its oranges and Black Pork BBQ. When we arrived on a budget flight from Busan, we rented a car and headed to its southern city of Seogwipo. Using Seogwipo as our base, we were able to visit Yongmeori Beach, Cheonjiyeon Waterfall, Manjanggul Cave (Lava Tubes), and the Seongsan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak).
Yongmeori Beach is not a sandy beach, it is a rocky cliffy beach with waves hitting rocks, turquoise colored water pools, and fishermen.
The lava tubes were quite interesting. It was incredibly cold in the tubes but there was a lot of information in English.
Lastly, the Sunrise Peak, which we visited at sunset, was quite a little hike but it provided beautiful views of the island.
